About Us

Our History

NPW was formed in 2012 from the Newham Council school traded services teams and we have been delivering these services for a combined period of 30 years. We pride ourselves on providing high quality cost-effective solutions. NPW currently supplies and delivers in excess of 850 SLAs across our service offering to schools in London and surrounding areas.

Who we are

NPW is a not for profit mutual organisation, owned by our members. We provide a range of operational, transformational and innovative services to schools and colleges so they can focus on improving the lives of children and young people. Our services are agile, allowing us to offer bespoke packages that meet an individual client’s needs.

Our Future

NPW has been working with key stakeholders, and in particular our schools, to develop a range of new products. This year we will be launching a number of these products in collaboration with pilot schools and new partners. Watch this space!

Our Members

All clients with service level agreements can be company members. The Board is accountable to company members for the direction and performance of the company. The benefits include attending General Meetings, having a say in how the company is run, the opportunity to join the Board, and being part of a wider network of schools and colleges. Our members also enjoy reduced fees on selected NPW training courses and discounts on room hire at Francis House.

A word from the CEO

As a not-for-profit, schools owned company, we pride ourselves in working exclusively for the benefit of our members and have continued to do so throughout this difficult period. We have ensured over 5,000 school staff are paid on time and correctly each month, clerked 450 remote school governance meetings, provided a 24-hour critical incident helpline, trained over 720 school staff in first aid and produced Covid related data analytics on the latest position in Newham schools. We have also planned for the future by testing out various scenarios and will continue working alongside you as your school support partner.

In terms of company performance, last year The Education Space reported an underlying profit, improved customer satisfaction from 90% to 92% and recorded a 98% retention rate. This would not have been possible without your continued support and loyalty to The Education Space - thank you!
